1. Who we are

DigiFriend ("we", "us", "our") is a companionship platform that connects members with verified international conversation partners for weekly video calls. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use DigiFriend. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts where this condition is not met.

3. Accounts

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• You may not share your account with others
• You must provide accurate information when signing up
• We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms

4. Subscriptions and payments

DigiFriend offers paid membership plans that give access to video calls with DigiFriends. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

• Payments are processed securely through our payment provider
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis - contact us at hello@digifriend.com
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice

5. Calls and bookings

• Calls take place over Jitsi Meet, a secure video platform
• You are responsible for having a working internet connection and camera
• Missed calls without cancellation notice are non-refundable
• DigiFriends are independent participants, not employees of DigiFriend

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use DigiFriend for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates our Community Guidelines. This includes but is not limited to:

• Harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour towards any user
• Soliciting money, gifts, or personal favours from other users
• Using the platform for dating or romantic purposes
• Recording calls without the explicit consent of all parties
• Attempting to circumvent the platform by moving communication off DigiFriend

7. Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform - including your name, email address, and call history. We do not sell your data to third parties. Calls are not recorded or monitored by DigiFriend.

By using DigiFriend, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described above.

8. Intellectual property

All content on DigiFriend - including the logo, design, and copy - is owned by DigiFriend. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer

DigiFriend is a social connection platform and is not a licensed therapy or mental health service. If you are in crisis, please contact a local emergency service or mental health helpline.

We do our best to verify DigiFriends before they join the platform, but we cannot guarantee the behaviour of any individual user. Use your own judgement and report any concerns to us immediately.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DigiFriend shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability in any matter shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the incident.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
